Wayne Brown joined the FUMC staff as Youth Director in August 2012 after several years teaching Bible Study and Sunday School classes to adults and youth since joining the church in 2007. Wayne has taught all 4 Disciple series Bible Study classes as well as being the Youth Sunday School teacher. He is responsible for leading the team of volunteers that teach the Youth Group which meets on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm. Wayne organizes and implements Youth Group activities and Christian studies to guide the youth to grow into productive Christian adults.

Wayne comes from southern Indiana where he worked for Indiana University Southeast - Information Technology prior to moving to Florida in 2006. In his working career, he was involved with computer technology as programmer, analyst, and computer technology teacher. Wayne spent his vacation time a couple weeks a year for several years helping at Methodist Church Camps in southern Indiana as counselor and co-director.

Wayne loves to read and is a huge fan of science fiction and fantasy. He enjoys playing games including role playing games, computer games, board games, and card games. He also likes to go salt-water fishing off fishing piers and from the bank of a canal.

Wayne and his wife Krissy live in Sugarmill Woods of Homosassa. Krissy is one of the volunteers working with the youth, as well as the person responsible for the slides used in the church services. Krissy is a Guardian ad Litem and is in training to become a Steven Minister. Wayne can be reached by calling the church office at 628-4086 and leaving a message.
