Already an active member of the church, Peggy Benson joined the staff of FUMC in March of 2008 as Parish Visitor. Peggy’s compassion for sick and hurting people makes her the perfect representative of FUMC as she makes weekly visits to members and friends of the congregation in the hospital, shut-ins or those recuperating at home. Peggy also coordinates the visitation care group which meets every Monday and leads the bereavement group that meets every Saturday morning in the conference room.

Peggy is a transplant from New York and resides in Homosassaa with her beloved dog, Shadow, who often accompanies her to work, acting as our “5 pound guard dog”. Peggy does not hold regular hours at the office due to various scheduled visitations but can be reached by calling the church office at 628-4086 and leaving a message for her with the receptionist.
