Text Box: As the church gears up for the fall season we all know that it will soon be commitment time again. Time to talk about our stewardship responsibilities toward the church.
We need to understand that stewardship isn't just green. There is more to being a good steward than how much money we set aside in response to God's calling.
It also means using our time, talents and interests to make the ministry of the church happen.
Just like our financial stewardship, our time and talent stewardship has to reflect our commitment and depth of faith.
Text Box: In the past, the nominating committee comes begging someone to take a "job"
in the church. Usually it comes with the assurance that "it won't be hard."
So they take the job with every intention of doing nothing because that’s what is expected of them.
But if we are to fulfill our mission we need people who want to use their time and talents, their skills and interests to empower the church.
The Lay Leadership Committee is looking for people who want to be in ministry, who see the work that they do for the church as important and who are willing to give themselves joyously.
Text Box: The committee is looking for people who want to make it possible for people to learn about the love of God and who want to share themselves with the world.
