The Lighthouse
On Thursday, May 11th, sixteen of us took a run up to Fanning Springs to the Lighthouse Restaurant. Due to the rain we drove our "Stealth Corvettes" which looked am awful lot like vans, but the next best thing to Corvettes are Friends, so we had a great time nevertheless. After a super meal, we drove down the road a piece and visited the Dakotah Winery (Yes Virginia, there are wineries in Florida!). After being given a tour by Rob, our gracious host, we sampled some of the great wines, purchased a few bottles to take home, checked out the duck pond and headed south. One of the Stealth 'Vettes detoured over to the Peanut Factory in Williston (was this town named after John & Nancy?) and added some peanuts and brittle to our wine cache. In spite of the rain (which we desperately needed, by the way) it was a super day. That is what Friends with Corvettes is all about!
Thanks to Karen & Terry for the photos.
